About Me
My name is Scott Lyerly and I’m a systems administrator for a large retailer located in the Northeast. In my travels I have been a lifeguard, a bookseller, a dishwasher, a systems analyst, a consultant, and now an administrator. It has certainly been a strange journey from English Lit major to a systems guy. While I have gone through various stages of both loving and hating my jobs, none of them have captured my creative passion: writing.
I didn’t truly begin to enjoy reading until my second year in college, and I didn’t begin writing until I was nearly finished. The first short story I finished took me nearly ten years to complete. Even after all that, it is still a fairly poorly written story. But any craft improves with practice and I have continued to write when I can find the time.
Current I live and work in Massachusetts. I live with a wonderful wife and two beautiful girls. They are the reason I don’t find as much time to write these day, and I’m very okay with that.

Hi: Scott, I’m a ref. librarian with a patron with an odd question about the book Darkly Dreaming Dexter which you reviewed. She wants to know who the serial killer is who is behind the murders of Miami prostitutes and why did he or she commit the crimes?
Could you help us?
Thanks
Tod

I can answer the question, but I’m not quite sure why it’s been asked.
Was the ending unclear to your patron, or do they want to know the end of the mystery before reading the book, or are they at a point where they’re too terrified to continue unless they know that certain characters are okay…,etc?
