New Year’s Resolutions 2009

January 2, 2009 at 1:49 am (General)

So, it’s that time of year again, the time of year when people take stock of their lives and decide that they are going to try and live their lives a little better. So, in the spirit of New Year’s Day, Here are a few of my resolutions for 2009:

  • Lose about 20 pounds (because when I say I’m in shape, that shape should not be “round”)
  • Exercise more (time to get back on that 5-K training course)
  • Eat healthier (Red Robin helped me break that one already today)
  • Try to be a better father to my girls (awwww)
  • Try to be a better father to this blog (you may have noticed that this is my first entry since the spring time)
  • Try to be a better friend to all the friends I used to know from days gone by (in other words, stop being such a lousy correspondent)
  • Post some Excel fun I’m having on this blog (yeah, I’m a bit of a geek—sue me)
  • Manage my money better
  • Try to (at least begin) to become the person I really want to be, taking steps toward living the life I really want to live
  • Go get checked out by all of my doctors (which means getting the physical I’ve put off for about five years, getting this goddam wisdom tooth taken care of, and filling in the at least seven cavities I’ve been putting off)
  • Write more and regularly, and finally finish revision of the damn book

I’m sure that I I’ll come up with more as the week wears on, but this is literally off the top of my head. So there you have it.

Aw Scott, you aren’t a bad dad to this blog. It may have been acting out a little but that’s all normal.

On the other hand, those doctors visits are no joke. After a root canal, a colonoscopy and a diagnosis of hypertension in 2008, I’m regretting not getting a head start on this stuff earlier!
